Answered Prayers in Guatemala!

Moons on a Mission

Pausing for Praise!
These newsletters are a joy to write! They give me a chance to reflect on ministry, celebrate what God is doing, and share the exciting ways He is at work. Thank you for faithfully praying for us! I’d love to revisit the prayer requests we shared in August and celebrate how God has been answering them.
Answers to prayer from our last newsletter!
August Prayer Request: AMI International School Growing and Preparing for the Future: Please pray for missionary teachers as our school continues to grow and expand. Pray also for wisdom and provision as we prepare to launch high school in 2028. Steph will also be working on accreditation through Cognia, and we hope to become an accredited school within the next couple of years!
🎉 Celebrating God’s Work!
Our middle school building is 90% complete! Plans and construction preparations for our high school building are also underway.
Accreditation is moving forward! At the end of October, we’ll host a Cognia global ambassador for our initial accreditation meeting. After many delays, we’ve seen God’s favor as the process has suddenly begun moving at lightning speed! If all goes well, we could receive accreditation as early as January 2027. Please pray that everything continues smoothly.
We’re recruiting missionary teachers! P. Moon recently traveled to Dallas to preach and recruit teachers at The Blessing Church, one of our AMI sister churches. It was a wonderful time, and we debuted our new teacher recruitment video! We’re praying God will use this video and our ongoing efforts to bring wonderful missionary teachers to Guatemala who share our vision. Click here, if you want to listen to the sermon "A Life Worth Living."
August prayer request: Our growing team: Pray that our new interns and staff would transition well, embrace the vision and mission of the ministry, and find their place on our team.
🎉 Celebrating God’s Work!
Our interns have adapted extraordinarily well! They’re adjusting to the culture and the classroom while using their God-given gifts to serve and invest in Guatemala. And there’s more! We have a few bonus missionaries joining us in the coming weeks, and we can’t wait to see how God will use them!
August Prayer Request: Our growing church: We are beginning a new series on the Holy Spirit. Pray that our church family would understand that knowing Christ is not primarily about doing more, but about seeking Him and learning to recognize and follow the Holy Spirit’s work in their lives.
🎉 Celebrating God’s Work!
Our church is growing! Over the past month, we’ve welcomed more than 200 adults every Sunday! We’ve added 20% more chairs and are seeing many new faces, along with more people becoming consistent members of our church family. What a joy to see God growing His church!
Baptisms are coming! On November 15, we’ll celebrate baptisms, and we’re encouraged by the interest we’ve already seen. Please pray for those preparing to take this next step in their faith.
Our Renewal Conference was a blessing! Led by Pastor Sam from Catalyst Church, the conference helped believers grow in their faith, become more attentive to the Holy Spirit, and pursue a deeper walk with God.
We’re so encouraged by all God is doing in our school, our team, and our church! Thank you for praying, partnering with us, and being part of what God is doing in Guatemala.Your prayers matter, and we’re grateful to share these stories with you!
Ministry Updates

At the “Renueva” (Renewal) Retreat, many of our leaders and church members learned what it means to have their lives transformed by the Holy Spirit and how to follow Jesus authentically!
Pastor Sam and his team from Catalyst Church came at just the right time to help our congregation grow and mature in their faith. Since then, we have seen so much fruit: more people becoming devoted followers of Jesus, greater consistency in their walk with the Lord, and practical, life-changing transformations. We’ve seen broken families begin to come back together, leaders serve with greater integrity, and more hearts open to the Gospel.
We are so grateful for the way God has used this ministry to bring renewal, maturity, and lasting transformation to our church!

Preaching and teaching opportunities
Squeezed in between church ministry and school ministry, PMoon has had many opportunities to preach and share the Gospel in a variety of settings, both locally and even in Dallas!
From a school retreat in the village of Chisec, two hours away, to a women’s retreat in Cobán, weddings, quinceañeras, and even a trip to Dallas to preach at The Blessing Church, God has opened doors to share His Word in so many different places.
We’re incredibly thankful for the strong team God has provided to faithfully care for the ministries in Cobán, allowing us to extend our reach and share the Gospel with even more people in different communities!
AMI International School

The middle school building is 90% finished and we hope to furnish it and start teaching students in the building by January! We are most excited to relaunch our youth group, which has been paused for the last few months due to space constraints!
Between spelling bees, fire drills, our annual Children’s Day celebration, and Guatemalan Independence Day festivities, there’s always something happening at AMI International School!
Amid the busy days and countless activities, we hope we never lose sight of what a privilege it is to serve so many children and families each day. We’re grateful for every opportunity to invest in the next generation through excellent education, biblical truth, and purposeful living!
